It's the once again event going on at the Singapore Expo again, and many nation's best loved event. Yes, its non other then our .

So being a typical nation and also my office is walking distance to it, I wrapped up work at 7pm and popped over to have a look at what's in-stall.

Indeed it was a wise choice, traffic flow: smooth, headcourt in the hall: low.

Took about close to an hour to finish combing the entire hall.
The stalls are very much the same as the previous food fairs held.

With exception that this year, they have a booth area set up for some overseas and local healthfood retailers to display their items (in a somewhat enclosed area). Sadly, there ain't much attraction there and it took up like 1/4 of the event space.

Food wise, many familiar manufacturers, retailers and everyday brands. My advise is if you are really keen in buying food (not the ready to eat types) but more of groceries, go on the last day of the event where you can get them at "suicidal" price. Also known as the "jump building price". That is why, I have told Ah Eng, that instead of going on the Saturday noon, lets make it Sunday, since it's going to be a weekend and it would be you squeeze me I squeeze you, may as well squeeze a good price from the exhibitors better.

Ok, let me tell you what was my catch for today then.

1st: I had a $1.20 Mr. Bean Soya bean ice cream cone. Nice I would use the word, not too sweet, very milky and thick and it does not melt easily as I was taking my own sweet time walking slowly browsing and eating it and it din mess up my palm even when it as close to finishing. Good ice cream indeed.

I went on to prey for more food, starvation is the word here.

Ended up packing them for home instead of munching. I guess the ice cream kept me filled for a while.

I came home with these things.

This green kueh that is all stucked in 1 lump may look not so appealing but please do not judge it's book by the covers. 1 was captured by the lady making the kueh and I asked her curiously what is it. She did not say much but offered a sample instead. I took a bite & she explained. It's a dessert made with coconut milk, slices of young coconut, flour and some seeds (she did not tell me what) and she would spread the mixture on the hotplate to cook the flour thoroughly before rolling it up. When u eat it hot, it's soft & rich. When I bought it home, it turns into a chewy bouncy kueh. 2thumbs up. I dunno the name and all I know it's a thai dessert made from young coconut. They have another version whereby they make plain soft crepes from flour mixture and they sell it to you with a packet of coconut floss. Very nice as welll cos the floss are very sweet and melts in the mouth. I think I would try that on Sunday.

Next, we have Saucisse House of Gourmet Franks. This is my 2nd time trying it at the food fair. The darker colour frank is the Giant Chicken Hotdog & the light one is the Cheesy Braswurst. The last time I had some Giant Chicken Hotdog it was still quite pleasant. This time both are yucky. Maybe it's cold, maybe it's the different brand of mustard used. Whatever the cause, yucks... sorry franks, into the bin you go.

Lastly. The white paste U see. Almond paste. It's quite nicely done *2thumbs up again* not too starchy not too sweet. And the best part it's pretty fine. (not sandy or lumpy in texture). It kinda help me wash my dinner nicely down..

Mama fried egg noodles for dinner & she did a very good job today orh~ So I had an extra big meal again today.. U can see it from my expression lah~ *chuckle*

No.. actually U should see how stuff my face was after all the abit of here & there munching and u telling yrself that it's too much eaten..

Base: I had a sumptous meal. =)

Stay tune for the next update then ~ oh if u wanna join me & eng eng this sunday noon, let me know via whichever mode... All are welcome yeah~
