In agony, despair & frustration that I can no longer stomach the sight of a piece of "咸菜" I own in my wardrobe, I took some time to write to the maker this: -
Dear Sir,
I would like to draw your attention to 1 concern I have regarding your quality of the business shirts, your made.
Some time back in September 2005, I'd purchased my 1st Glenhill mid-length sleeve shirt, from Isetan Raffles City. Priced at $69++ close to $70.
With this price paid for a piece of garment, I frankly say I would expect premium quality in it. However, I am sad to inform you that I do not see any of it in the piece I own.
Material: No doubt the material used aint irritating on the skin when worn but my biggest concern here is, it creases way TOO EASILY! Allow me to quote you how easy the fabric creases, minus the handling when the shirt is neatly pressed, the moment one sits down with the shirt on and gets up afterwhich, I would be able to observe the entire lower half of shirt full of folds with a very wrinkled look. Least to mention after a full day of 9hrs spent in the shirt. I am very disappointed to say that it looks just exactly like a washed and wringed dry item. If using a corporate wear is to look neat and presentable, how would you justify that such an inferior shirt be able to fulfil this need?
This has upset me so much that I am comtemplating a refund. Rather being unreasonable it would be more apppropriate to set aside the item and leave it till yellows and down the chute it goes.
Words of mouth as a consumer impacts a business tremendously if you understand where I am coming from. I am sad to say, I have not only stop patronising you and I would also encourage friends around me with better options and more value for money buys. As wise consumers of this age, I truly feel your made has not met my expectations and many others out there, I am very sure.
My purpose of writing in today would serve as a reminder that quality is important especially if you would corresponds it with the monetary factor $$$. I have no reasons to convince myself that I should spend $70 for YOUR business shirt when my usual wardrobe of $25 per piece is exceeding what you people can offer. I sincerely hope that my messages are clearly extended.
Appreciate the time you take to read an email of low importance. Thank you.
Kind regards,
Karen Yeong
PS: A picture paints a thousand word, if you need to fully visualise the indesirable quality that you have. I would be more then gladful to provide a photo of how a 9hr exhaust shirt looks like, on your demand. Thank you again for your time, sir.
Let us just wait and see if they would, and in this event what the response would be like.
I am waiting.

Woke up this morning at 830am. We have a get-together session at Ann's place in Queensway. For labourous work to get the wedding preparation work done.
Gathered at 11plus, did some confetti cutting, some mingle and warming up getting to know the sisters better before we had pizza delivered for lunch. Discussed the "整人计划". I also don't know where all my ideas came from. It was like, one of the gals suggest something and there it goes, it just sparks me off and an idea would come out from the plot she provided. I must say it takes a genius to be this witty...Hee Hee Hee. But I am glad we managed to come with a few "可以整出笑料的好点子" But after meeting some of the boys troop later in the afternoon, I think we gals should have some challenges liao. They are not that "easy to handle" afterall. But I still hope that the boys would be sporting enough to fulfil our tasks before we open up the door to let the groom have the bride.
After lunch, we went back to the production line again. Spent the next 2 hrs packing the tokens guests gets to bring home and putting on the tags.
I would be emcee on Ann's big day, and I've got to meet the other "half" as well. The male emcee, Jave - a tall, dark, handsome, 2 yrs my junior, graduated from UK boy. I must say his quite intimidating to work with. Discussed with the couple how the flow of the dinner would be and where we should come in. But the boys side seems least worried. Very relaxed mood. Not into detailed plannings. This worries me for I do not want to do last minute work and "karang kabot" with the mike on the stage. Jave, so if u see this, we are supposed to draft the speech out, decide who does the mandarin and who does the ang moh and rehearse. Aiyoh... this is enough to make a 1st timer go nuts liao. Oh he seems very experienced with wedding planning also this boy.. Hmmmm I am going nuts worrying this and that for nothing liao~ Okie *deep breathe* I can always meet up with the gang again and plan more concrete things when the date is closer, after CNY as what he says.. *use fingers count* 2 weeks left to the actual event only~ *knock knees*
Okie okie, enough of destress caused by that boy. Went off at 3plus, and headed to Queensway S.C. That place aint a wonderful mall to go for clothes. I went to ask a tailor how much he or she., not ITS a SHIM charges for an evening dress. That blardy half vege simply brushed me off quoting me $250. When I asked what material you use, he told me anything. I walked out pissed not wanting to make a 3rd query any more. Bad attitude, does not mean you have some one in the store letting u chop radish slash $ already you can use such half past 6 attitude to "entertain" me loh. Anyway his price was a "rob bank" price so even his attitude was better he would never get the deal as well. My neighbourhood tailor was only asking for $100++ for labour charges only, materials I have to source on my own. I shall see if I can get a decent dress or not. If not tailors would be the final resort.
Went to Ikea after QSC. Had a hotdog bun before shopping started. Their hotdog bun is so yummy and healthy, all dogs were cooked in boiling water. I like it alot, with some light mustard and ketchup. Combed their whole level 2 show room before we had dinner at the cafe. My same usual choice of dish when I go to Ikea, swedish meatball. This time I didn't quite enjoy it. Maybe it's due to semi full tummy from the hotdog. But Jim was hungry so we had not choice but to eat early. Tried their highly recommended chicken wing this time, moderate to me for I find it slightly too saltish and the marinates ain't done well to the extend that the meat is nicely soaked with marinates. It was more on the skin only. Had 2 coffee, they really have nice coffee. Had some pasta too, did not like the tomato sauce.
Finished dinner and we went down to level 1 where the picking up of goods come. I bought the 3rd stool today. Same design, we had the pink 1st, then the blue and today the green. I think the stools are phasing out soon cos it was a priced down and stocks are down to the last few pieces, so I grabbed 1. I wanted 2 initially but mum said 1 was nuff. 1 book stand, 2 alarm clocks, 2 hand towels, 1 bath towel are my other possesions today. This is considered little bought for the records set for Ikea visits, hee. I should had also taken the 5 for $2.90 white magazine stand for office use also. Wasted. Home sweet home after paying off. Took a slow bus ride home, I was so tired I even fell asleep on the bus. But it was rejuvernating after that short 30mins nap.
Oh before I forget, it was very sweet of Ann to prepare a small token for all of us, mine was a tea cup set. Ikea's with pink floral print. Very english look, those tat I can serve muffins and cakes with that type. Nice, thank you Ann. She also sew brooches for all of us to wear it on her big day. These brooches are nice, I like those the gals have better then mine thou, I should had swapped with those that were not present today.. Sigh. But still I think I would wear mine on the hand on that day. These hand made brooches are bad culprits too, made the bride broke down in tears in the midst of doing it cos she felt they look ugly. Who said so, they look angelic to me loh..
Okie, my updates are due and so is my bedtime. Tomorrow is another torturous day in office.
Over & out~

Was a super long weekend for me since Friday 6th. It's Hari Raya Haji on the 10th so I took leave on the 9th, thinking that I could make good use of the long block of weekend to clean up the home alittle and prepare for Chinese New Year.

Sadly instead of making good use of the time to clean, I made merry and grew lazy instead.
Encountered the longest lifespan rainfall every. Started raining on Saturday evening and it went on continously for the next 4 days till Wednesday morning. Luckily, it stopped this morning so I could come to office without much hassle.
With the wet weather, I did very little for the 4 days rest.
Saturday
Slept late, woke up to brunch and some tv watching, went out to meet ah eng in the evening at CWP.
Sunday
Slept late again, went out for lunch with mum and aunt at Tmall followed by some shopping before sending my aunt to the busstop for her to go back home. Lazed the rest of the day off watching VCD and surfing.
Monday
Worst today, slept late also. Mind you, my late is very late. Noon time, sometime past noon, 1pm. Had brunch, lazed, watched plenty of TV, surfed alot.
Tuesday
Same routine as the past few days, cept I did some sweeping and mopping today. To compensate for the guilt stricken conscious. Stayed up super late till 3plus am. I was so addicted to the Thai movie about human cloning, thou I had watched it before I watched it again, at the expense of sleep.
Wednesday
Back to office, did nothing for the whole morning, opened a browser and starting writing here. It's lunchtime now so I guess I would bring a lunchbox back when I am done with the entry.
Oh, I think my 水桶腰 needs some attention liao. Sigh, who wants to sponsor trail use of Uxxx? I don't mind giving testimonals and appearing on paper adverst as successful case, that is if it is.
Okie dok, I think I am mindlessly writing now. Hunger signals coming up the brainwave... Roger & out for lunch babes.
Be back with more.

I found a small piece of sponge in my mixed rice lunch box this afternoon.
Don't ask me how it got in there, I don't know.
Don't ask me where is the sponge from, I don't know.
All I know is I felt so yucky I almost wanted to puke those I ate in out, the texture of the sponge in the mouth is VERY puke-inducing.
All I know is I continued with care the remaining 2/3 of the lunchbox and felt in total disgust when I was done.
All I know is I am going to so boycott that stall for a long time till I can get over it psychologically.
On a chronological event, I'd ever discover the following embedded in my food before.
- thick plastic covered wire cord in chicken briyani from old Marina Square Nasi Padang stall.
- thin wire mesh from scouring pad. Some mixed vege rice stall.
- 2 vege worms in broccoli flowers. Some vege rice stall as well.
These are the few bigger issues, smaller ones I cannot recall now.
I have something with finding UFOs in my food I also dunno why. I think it's just me, my luck. I always get "fortified" food.
That concludes why I detest dining out.
Period.

This marks the last party for 2005, also the 1st party for 2006. Hee~
Attended a secondary school friend's wedding dinner at the Carlton Hotel. Finally after a super long distanced marathon run of I think 1.5 decades, yes use your toes it's close to 15 years of long marathon running, Kevin & Carol finally tied their knots. It was a good evening meeting up the old time friends, seeing them all turned adults & successful now. The married are married, the conceived is giving birth soon, the happy-go-luckys are still swinging.
Carlton is a nice place to get hitced I must say. I was welcomed by the houseband with nice singing the moment I stepped into their main lobby and the warm lightings & decoration makes it much splendid. The spiral staircase that leads up to the ballroom added romance too. I somehow feel it's a grand place to have a nice function there. Oh, the way they dress their ballroom, no need to elaborate. It's just such a heavenly sight. I really must compliment the people behind the making of the scene, 2thumbs and 2 toe thumbs up! I really don't mind getting hitched there myself too. But that's provided the well to do and eager hubby comes along. Oh as I was looking at the popular dates on the ROM website the other day, I told myself Dec 12, 2006 is nice date to tie knots. Hmmm, if I can make it, I would make it by that day. :) Oh, dream on again Karen~ :P
Okie, back to the wedding dinner. Food was nice, red wine to wash em down, better. 3 glasses slowly over dinner was not too much to take.. psst~ as compared to 3 down in 30mins. ;x *shut I did not say anything* hee~
Dinner commenced late and only ended at 11pm, had time to go to the wedding suite to have a look, beautiful skyline from the 24th floor. I think it was 24th, I could not remember clearly for I was too engrossed looking into the lift mirror~ Hee pardon me.
Big suite, not trendy looking thou, but good cos air-con is blasting cold, very ideal for madness rushing brides. Room is cosy, segmented into 2 areas: the bedroom & dressing room and the living & dining area. 2 toilets so husbands & wives need not fight. I should had stayed in the room and watched the fireworks as advised by the wedding couple. You would know why I say so in a few minutes time.
Left the hotel at 1145pm thinking we could make it in time to the Esplanade to watch the firework live but somehow we (a sec sch galfren & me) were delayed. The works started when we were at the neck of the City Hall MRT, just about to head down when it started blasting. 28 yrs of living, this is the 1st time I am so close to seeing blasts. Beautiful, it would be better if we were at the riverside, I am sure. Still, it was beautiful an experience thou.
After the blast, we headed down the Citylink Mall planning to meet a common friend of ours and Ah Eng whom had planned to wait for me at the Merlion's but midway thru the Citylink Mall she called and we changed the venue of meeting. I had to back track to my original spot to meet Ah Eng but it was another experience of a lifetime this time. See, after the fireworks, while waiting for Ah Eng to come down the tunnel to meet me I saw like thooousaands of human making their way to the train station to catch the last few bounds of services back. I ain't exaggerating here, if I had a ticker I think my ticker could had gone bonkers ticking the headcount away. The journey from the addidas shop back to the Mphosis shop was smooth, but that's where the jam starts. The down riding escalator trip cum the upriding and the slow march to the train station was the slowest attempt ever taken. I think I tool easily 45 minutes all in all to clear it. To prevent jams in the train station, police has set up gates to only allow like couple of tens to hundreds in every few minutes. Imagine, sardines packed, hooligans cat-calls & NO PROPER VENTILATION. I had to fan myself with a small name card, and that's all I had with me to use. The very moment I cleared the block, I felt life again.
To add on to the misery, Dean our beloved chauffer whom wanted to pick me and Ah Eng up at Raffles City S.C to go down to Boat Quay made us waited for like 40 minutes at the taxi stand. It was only a 10minutes slow walk away from where we were. So in frustration after 40mins or so of waiting, I decided we walked & indeed we were faster then the wheels. Reached my "斗头" pub, greeted by the usual gang Ben, Eric & pals. The place was super duper packed and we could only stand at the door. Instead, we took the table outside & order lime juice from the coffeeshop next door and sipped away. Hahaha, fancy having lime juice when were are all that sober. It was fun watching drunks & highs "perform" when one is sober. We sat there like for the next 2 hours before the 1st time ever drunk like lobster Ben could not take it anymore. (who would in the 1st place too when you had like 1/2 to 2/3 a bottle of Martell, given me I would had K out until dunno where liao). We threw him inside the car and heaed for Yishun, dropped him and sent Vel back to pick fresh uniform for the day after use. She must have been crashing at Dean's place. Went off to Chong Pang to have nasi lemak before we called it a day & was sent back home. On the way to Yishun earlier, I saw on my other lane a private car overturned. An ambulance was there to rescue, I hope the driver & passngers if any were all okie. It's really sad to see accidents, I do not like it.
Called it a day when I reached home like 5 plus in the morning. This is the most atrocious night out, super wee hours. Not a good way to start the year thou. I must make it a point to visit Boat Quay lesser & be a goodie to shoe gal again, staying indoors staring at the TV.
Also for the year, I msut cultivate healthier habits also like sleeping before midnight, eating healthily & etc. Let's just see when all these would get in place.
And before I crash into bed at 2.15am now, it would be good opportunity to wish all readers: A healthy, joyous 2006. Live the remaining of the 363 days happily if you haven for the last 2. Remember, you loss 60 seconds of happiness for every 1 minute of anger in you. I wish all happiness & pink of health always. Cheers~

I am going to keep this entry short & sweet.
Party #3 - Xmas cum Birthday celebration at Xmosphere, Dec 24th 2005.
Met up with the usual suspects for an evening of unsober-ness.
Arrived at Raffles Place at about 11.30pm when it was already packed with humans. Everyone were in the mood already, you can gauge by the rates they use artificial foams on you. Strangely, it doesn't snow in Singapore but I wonder why these people like using foams this much. Yikes is the word, I DETEST chemicals!.
Had a smooth journey and arrive at the pub just in time for some warming up before countdown comes. Talking about warming up, it did not take too long with the help of lord knows how much added vodka tat the gals served me.
Count-downed to Xmas with Aaron Kwok's MV and plentiful of foams aimed in all directions. The gals then served the xmas log cake complimentary ah Eng. I had the honor to have my "斗头" to sing me a birthday song, a smooch (very 勉强 one) several hugs and some pictures taken. I was nice to return him a nice peck on the cheek too. I am dead for all evidents were taken down pictorially. Seen some of the pics not all, but I rather not have them for the unsober high on vodka, flabby double underchin pics are too much for a alcohol high lady to stomach, not to mention being called "肥妹" by a Hongkie. Excuse me, I ain't 肥, just gracefully plump. Ahemm, thank you. Hee hee hee.. okie okie I am fat.
The remaining of the night? I was high on vodka sitted outside sipping lime/lemon agar agar drink from the next door coffeeshop for the next 3 hrs. With intervals to the washroom & singing half a song with Ben.
Supper follows, the fried kway tiao ah Eng ordered was my life saver. 1st few mouths were alittle vomit inducing but the subsequent eating made me felt better and much awake. I managed to get home sober.
Many thanks to friends for: -
1. The 45 minutes of awakeness fun.
2. The 3 hrs long of seh-ness fun.
3. The nice white bag from ah hui, Eng & eve. I just found out yesterday that ah eve's younger sis ah wei took the trouble to go around with her sis to hunt for the pressie too. Thank you so much for taking the trouble too.
4. The nice chocy log cake. I asked for it and ah Eng took trouble to order via phone to prevent them selling all off in view of xmas. Muakz ah Eng, appreciate the troubles.
5. The forced kiss I got from ah pat. & the kena lummed dunno how many times. Alcohol are bad. They make people do funny things.
6. Andy for his heart made from drinking straw. & his mocked up Andy Lau signature on my left hand. It was a waste I had to wash off his Mont Blanc ink. I am honoured to have some1 sign on me with Mont Blanc. Hee..
7. Andy #2, Ben's friend for spraying foams into my face & mouth. I repeat I DETEST chemical Andy. HaHaHa, he was lucky I did not break him into pieces.
Hmm I think this should be all. I cannot recall the remaining details vividly.
Party #4 coming your way soon.
