Prata anyone? I've not a very Indian_Prata gal but there is this 1 here you see that I enjoy quite a fair bit. Even when there are no curry, just hot with some fine sugar.
Yeah, I am talking abt frozen prata here. 第一家 is the brand. They come frozen in packs of 5s or 20s. 2 flavours, plain or onion. Bought 1 packet home the last time my mum cooked curry and I pan-fried 2 to go with the curry. Splendid.
This morning, I was craving for some food so I racked the fridge and found the remaining 3s sitting chilled inside the freezer, so I took out the wok. Heated the wok up, used butter this time instead of the regular cooking oil. Melted the butter and placed in the flat sheet of dough to pan-fry till crispy. Takes abit 5 to 8 mins to cook. Fry longer if you want an extra crispy texture. I did my extra crispy this morning with some sugar. Perfect.
So if the next time you crave for prata and Jln Kayu is to kayu for u to travel to. I won't be so kayu to go all the way from Tampines here. Stock up some of these ready to eat and they would come in pretty handy especially its 3am wee hrs in the morning. Cheers~
Oh, I think its because I know I would need to abstaint from many food groups for like 2 months or so I am like wanting to eat and eat and eat these few days. To make things worst, I am having porridge, teochew style shortly. Plain porridge, eggs fried with carrots shreds, canned boiled peanuts, and maybe preserved beancurd squares. Dull it may sound, but simple things like these can easily send 2 bowls of porridge down. I am going to keep to such diets for some time. Pls send my weight down a few kgs. Pls. :P
