They say holidays are rejuvernating, I do not think likewise, especially if your destination and kakis are shopping freaks.
Day 2, we started at 9am at the hotel lobby for breakfast. Had to wake up at 8am to shower so that we had ample time to prepare. The nite before, I hardly sleep. 1st I was on the left hand side of the bed and I kept feeling its sunken in. Went into bed at 230am the nite before and at 430am I was still tossing and turning around semi conscious mode. So finally at 430am after waking mr. D up for many times we decided to swap position.. place i mean :p (psst i kept thinking the bed was empty beneath and there could potentially be a body!!)
No better, the right hand side bed was firmer but now I keep getting nitemares and pespiration despite the aircon is cold. I thought I could be so lucky to be so be "surrounded" by "good friends" that keeps disturbing me and refuse to let me sleep plus prior to the trip, my "nice" friends had been telling me about "friends" present in the hotel rooms and how to sight for their presence. I was somewhat disturbed.
With max only like an hr of shallow sleep, the next day was really hectic.
4 sets of breakfast for selection on the cafe menu, we wallop breakfast in 30mins and off we headed to the BTS to catch the train to Mo Chit Station, far end of the line. Chatuchuk Market here we come. BTS is still the best mode to travel. packed but its clean air cool conditioning and fast no jams. roads in bkk is atrocious. air gives black nasal discharge daily. (i call it "oor kim - black gold")
Chatuchuk has not changed a slight 5 yrs from then. Still as huge, I cannot recall 6 or 8 soccer field size. Still as crowded and the hot sun to top it. 4 hrs of non stop walking and I think I barely covered half the area.
Buys here: For myself: 2 sequins blouses - 550B, 1 pair of slippers for change - 50B, Ah eng's souvenior and sour lychees - 30B. The sour lychees thou juicy went to waste at the end of the trip, too tired to eat anything when u go back to the hotel. we rather hump, then eat. No I mean sleep. :)
The scary 199B gals bought too many things they had to go back to the hotel to unload b4 they continue part 2 of "chopping" (thai people pronouse the word this way). so it was good we got an hr rest and cooling down b4 we headed out again.
talking abt the bangkok sahara hotel located in sukhuwit soi 5, it is really a good buy in my views. room is spacious, located midway up siam and down to the weekend market. 5mins slow stroll to the Nana BTS station, 24hr supermarket at the neck of the soi, massage parlours, internet places, shops and nite stalls set up on the streets for more shopping, cafes and restuarants, plenty on the streets, no worries you will starve, clean toilet most importantly and its with a bathtub as well. (vital for karen jie jie - clean sheets & toilet). the only set back is the room is constantly with a hint of ciggie smell which will take some aircon to reduce it and its an arabic and blackie paradise. no harrassments or insecurity of any sort thou. very safe to even travel at wee hrs and little prostitution observed. definately a thumbs up for future stays.
okie back to part 2 shopping: Mahbronkrong (MBK) S.C
dropped by at siam paragon's food court for late lunch with mr. D 1st b4 we join the rest. waited for them to do lunch together but they went to do streetside stall 20B fried chicken noodles leaving the 2 of us starved to insanity.
i like the money handling system in the foodcourts in BKK. they run coupons systems where in older malls, they sell u a stack of 100B coupons and u tear the exact amount to pay for your food at the stalls. the modern malls like siam paragon now uses smart cards. you refund your balance after your meals. this way they dont handle money. hygenic, i like.
i had meatball glass noodles in spicy soup and i added more dried chilli to it. super ped (ped = spicy) i like~ and vietnam rice roll w prawn and tuna. the sauce and mint leave w succulent veges is nice. 50B for 6 rolls. Noodles 35B/bowl. inexpensive and vvv filing =)
got mr. D stewed pork and fried pork rice with extra egg. he dont like. this man is very picky with food. i cannot stand him. i wish he could apply his food choosing techniques to women. this way he would have lesser women around him. i wish - only if... *shake head*
another madness 3 hrs shopping where the 199B gals fill up their haversack with victories again.
Buys here: Nothing for me.
The evening was ended with a steamboat & ala carte dinner at Coca Restaurant. Coca there is in-expensive and un-tasty as well. per head for dinner is only 250B but the soup base and dishes aint really nice/bland. You can easily get stir-fried veges, 1 whole roasted chicken, charsiew and steamboat "liao" for 250B/head.
Finished dinner and we went back to the hotel.
With the lack of sleep for 2 days, straining my left leg when climbin up the tuktuk the nite before and the amazing race like walking, 4 of us decided we need massage badly. the good thing was about our hotel location is there is a very good massage parlour juz 2mins away. checked the price out and soon we were checked in already. 400B for 2hrs traditional thai massage. 299B for traditional foot massage. we make reservation for 4 packs and zoomed back to the hotel to wash out legs clean. me fen and mr. D opt for 2hrs rubba while jim who was battling with sleep monster opt for foot. the 400B was definately good investment.
the massuers after collecting payment would lead u to the underground if u are doing the body massage while the foot massage stays at the ground floor. a set of PJ for u to change out and they let u lie down for the next 2 hrs.
both legs the masseur took 1 hr to soothe them for us. and miracle-ly the tuk tuk strain was almost gone. the following hr was back and head massage b4 they end with the "famous" break ur bone position where they stretch ur whole spinal and back, masseur underneath u. imagine u were 110kg, u better tips her other wise she would have to "toh tiap" herself for straining her back stretcing u :P
our 2nd hr massage, send 3 of us asleep. i hear mr. D snore, fennie too. me, i drooled when lying on the side of my head. unglam. the head massage was memorable. the masseur tugged my hair several times despite i was semi-conscious. i could sense some ah-lian cat fighting me like tat. play the tug hair type of fighting. lucky never tug 1 patch of hair off. :P
went back to the hotel thinking i could get a sound sleep after the good rubba but i was wrong again. the shower freshen me up and i was up disturbing the man at wee 3am again. if u think he is poor thing always having a woman whispering in his ears when he is trying to sleep, then you are wrong. cos comparing what he does to me his is more devilish.
day 1 of the trip he has been pissing me off. started with nonstop calls on my home and mobile line after i sms to find out if he has woken up to catch the flight or not when i was like in the showers midway. can u imagine the tension with the phone ringing non stop and you trying to get ur shower done and over with fast. when a woman in in a hurry and she has not enough sleep, dont press on any further.
day 2: chatuchuk market. we ended up the animal lanes which i wanted to avoid and this "animal lover" insisted on going in to have a walk so i pleased him by saying i will wait outside the lane. i was damn stupid to make that decision. when i had the 2nd thoughts and rushed in to drag him out risking birdflu from the dunno imported from where birds sellers, his hands was already carassing a puppy in the pan. FFCUK! pardon me~ and i had to force him to wash with the mineral water. thats the least i could do. he ate meat skewers with those hands without thorough wash with soap and water after that. CAN ANY1 TELL ME THE POTENTIAL RISKS I AM PUT TO? IT WAS ONLY DAY 2 AND I HAVE TO LEAVE WITH THIS MAN PERPECTUALLY FOR THE NEXT 3 DAYS. he got his lessons as well to, cos i nagged nonstop the whole of the day afterwhich. i am now back home with a cough and sore throat and flu initially. all farking respiratory related symptoms, no fever yet. mum has the same symptons too. if its full blown birdflu, i tell u this birdbrain man is going to die with me. i make sure i feed him my birdflu infested saliva daily till he comes down with it too. how KUKU can a human get? his apparently more KUKU then the bird species. the same mentality applies when it comes to sexual behaviours which in view of his privacy i shall not discuss! nuff said. this is the sore i am getting on day 2 only. more sores from him to come.. his sores are sore-er then the walking mind you.
off and out and have a good weekend folks~
