As I am re-charging myself with my Koka Cuppa Noodles now I shall give you an update on Day 3 BKK. But b4 1 start. Pls! stick to the flavour of cup noodles u like. I had always been on their Tom Yum and it's always entricing. Today it's chicken soup flavour. I wish I hit Tom Yum flavour at the dispenser earlier.
Okie, Day 3. More tiring. cos it 2 nites in a row where i did not get quality sleep.
we woke up at 8 as usual and gathered at 9am for breakfast.
Today we have a local host to show us around and there he was 930am at the hotel cafe with his gf.
Presenting : Mr. Piyamanoset & his gf.

That's his family name if you people must be wondering. Fortunate for him. His aunt gave him an English name so we did not had a hard time addressing him. Unfortunately, his aunt called him "Golf" I almost introduced myself as "Tennis" :X joke aside. Kib is the gf. Have husband and Wife look? Ah eng says have. I feel same same :P
Off we set out for another Amazing Race BKK day. Hired a taxi and our dear guide for the day fiak some thai to bring 3 of us to the destination, the other 3 packed themselves into his car. 30mins later we are in Bobae Tower. Wholesale tower where you would see many vendors come and buy in bulk stocks and tourist like us who gets slash throat. I picked up 2 t-shirts as gifts here and when they present me the price chart i nearly drop jaws. 1piece 180B. buy a dozen 55B each.. what the what the what the? 70% of the selling price for wholesales? $#$%#&%*&^ but i aint no business woman. so LL to be slashed. There aint much things to buy here frankly so we did not stay for too long. I picked up 1 piglet for myself here too.. shall get piglet mei to show face one of this days yeah =)
next stop, lunch. Swensen at the Central World Plaza. the former World Trade Centre. Under renovation now and very messy. One thing abt western food here is very economical. 130B for a set meal (choice chicken, pork or fish) plus free flow salad bar. I took the pork. Very nice. Ever eaten tender pork thats grilled with sweet sauce? Juicy meat. Very typical thai flavour. sweet. It was a nice meal indeed. =)
after food. we walked over to the erwan shrine aka 4 faced bhudda. some prayed while some of us hang around to look at the scenes. they have interesting culture where the young gals will dress up heavenly in bright colours hair accessories and nice make up to dance and sing to the goddess. if you want to pray in that manner, i think you can pay some money and they will write down ur name and these ladies would chant in singing to the goddess while u kneel down to sincerely ask for ur blessing. i was told "tian niu" she actually had her wishes come true and she enclosed the surrounding area and danced topless for the goddess as offering. so i examined the place and found it almost difficult to entirely enclose the whole area and the BTS line was just up the site. I think the train riders must had had a feast that day. some may even do multiple trips :X joking.
after erwan shrine. more shopping. off to the pratunam market and then the platinium fashion mall. nothing in pratunam for sure. plenty in platinium but due to time constraints we had to rush thru to leave the building to head back to sukhumwit for dinner at 8pm.
but i like platinium mall. very new, just opened this feb. air-coned. price is around the market prices. wide variety and organised. its like shopping in bugis cept you can bargain. picked up slippers from my bro here..
730pm we left for dinner.
next stop: Spring and Summer at Sukhumwit Soi 39

pardon the dark pic but i hope you can make up the pic. otherwise visit here. it was a special arrangement done by our dear host golf in celebration of our birthday girl's ivy 25th.
Our dear fren here was so detailed that he called his friend up to ask for a nice ambient place to dine in. Indeed it was a wonderful selection. Dinner in summer restaurant where u eat in dim warm orange lighting and nicely decorated place. high ceiling, huge book shelve facing the entrance and a bartender counter. traditional thai food with english setting very fusion. very nice. some wine and lazing on the long couch. very good way to ease away the entire day of tension from the madness shopping.
after dinner. out to the summer cafe.
you get to sit in the open air on cushions and u drink with ur back lied down, counting mini stars on a greeny grassland. very romantic. how nice a setting rite to celebrate your bday. golf is such a romantic boy. =) and very detailed. that's what i like in the thais. very genuine people. he also mentioned its difficult to find houses with grassland and such a huge pouch in bkk. so its a rare gem indeed. alittle abt the building i read. it was built in the mid 1900s and a thai actor bought over the land to renovate the place into a restaurant. i chanced upon the owner by chance as well. complimentary of golf pointing out his presence.
oh and peep at the cake. sinfully chocolate. very sinful but very difficult to resist. =)
some lazing around chatting after the dessert under the stars before we call it a nite =)
the happy faces of the 8s =)
